Her parents were interior designers Sharon Anna Kathryn Shana Gunn & Clemens Gunn Senior. Santa Fe Preparatory School, where she was a graduate in 1986. She studied theater at Northwestern University and graduated with an honors degree in the year 1990. During fall of 1988 Gunn spent a semester abroad to learn in the British American Drama Academy. Pamela Adlon was her housemate after Gunn moved from Laurel Canyon Los Angeles. Gunn was best known for her character Skyler on AMC's Breaking drama. Her performance won her an award called the Primetime Emmy Award, Outstanding Supporting Performer in a Series Drama in 2013. In August 2013 she wrote an article of op-ed for The New York Times that looked at the resentment shown by the public towards her role.
