Amber Benson is an American actor, singer, writer and producer. Her most recognizable character is Tara Maclay, in the TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Additionally, she's directed, produced and performed in her own film Chance & Lovers Liars & Lunatics. In addition, she appeared in the movie Kiss the Bride. Benson was the younger child born to Edward Benson and Diane Benson. She was born in Birmingham in Alabama, on 8 January 1977. Benson has a younger sister Danielle Benson, who works as an artist. Benson attended an Reform Jewish synagogue while growing up. Her mother was a Southern Baptist and raised Jewish through her father, is also Jewish. Benson began appearing in other films, like The Killing Jar. Benson was also a part of TV shows like Morganville The Series.
